“I’m currently in the process of starting my own midwifery practice and the help I’ve gotten from Deidre and Leslie has been invaluable! They’ve already done the leg work of starting a practice for me and have made the process 1000 times easier than if I was doing this alone. They have individualized their consultation to suit my needs in the moment and I don’t know where I would be without them, WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT!!!!!”

We Serve

I’ve worked with many CNMs and APRNs across the United States starting and improving their clinics. We have traditional women's health clinic support plus niche services that midwives are doing including telemedicine, sexual health, pelvic floor therapy, hormonal replacement therapy, weight loss managements, medical spas, and infertility. If you want help getting a strong foundation to your practice, we have the resources and expertise to make you successful!

Are you thinking about working towards CABC accreditation? National accreditation is a prestigious licensure, but it does take a lot of time, money, and expertise to get your policies and protocols up to national standards. Many states have regulation requirements that you should fully understand before creating a birth center facility. We can also help with business plans, funding, operations, staffing, training, budgets, risk management, and so much more!

Wanting to start out small and private? Home birth practice gives midwives the most autonomy possible, but requires extensive business background to be successful. I have run a successful out of hospital midwifery practice and I would love to pass on what I have learned. Midwives need to create a strong work/life balance, collaboration support, accurate fee schedules, marketing campaigns, and policies to support their community's needs. There is a lot to think about and plan when starting your own practice and we are here to help you in with the process!

Meet the Team

Becoming a midwife has been a life long dream. I didn’t realize that this wonderful profession would lead me down the path of business. I have found over the years that midwives need to understand business, accounting, financing, marketing, negotiating, and so much more to be successful in today’s health care system. I love supporting women. By being able to participate in leadership roles and create amazing private practices, I can support midwives just as much as the pregnant women they care for! I am passionate about women’s empowerment and women business ownership. We can serve families best with independent successful midwifery practices.
I have had over 17yrs experience in health care. I have worked in hospitals, birth centers, and home settings. I have worked for large non-profit hospitals, small community hospitals, privately run birth centers, hospital owned birth centers, and my own home birth / birth center practice. Being able to understand the business and financial side of midwifery has really shown me how much easier a midwife practice can be profitable and successful in today’s health care ever changing climate.
Let me help you start your own or improve the current midwifery practice you are struggling with. I have years of billing, accounting, contracting, business plan writing, and midwifery clinical expertise to make your midwifery practice thrive no matter what stage it is in! Whether you want a small home birth practice, large birth center practice, or booming hospital midwifery practice, I can provide guidance, support, and resources to make your midwifery practice dreams a reality!
Deidre DeGrado

Deidre DeGrado is a wife, mother, and Certified Professional Midwife. She has been in practice for nearly two decades. Deidre is married to Jerry, a chiropractor for over 39 years. They have several children ranging between the ages of twelve to thirty-two. Deidre confidently states, “Being a wife and mother is who I am; As a child, I was enamored with babies and moms. Thankfully, the Lord gave me children and grandchildren whom I love and enjoy so much.” With children of her own, she had a variety of experiences at home, the hospital, and at a birth care center. Personally, Deidre loved her water birth experiences.

Deidre is a midwife simply because it is what God has “called” her to do. Her natural birth philosophy was initially formed after the tragic birth of her nephew that resulted in the loss of her only sister in 1991. Her home birth practice is based on The Midwifery Model of Care, as defined by MANA, is the philosophy she has adhered to in her many years of practice, which affirms that pregnancy and birth are normal life events.

Deidre is so delighted to have trained multiple students in the art of midwifery. Encouraging the next generation of midwives and her sister midwives has developed into a passion. She has learned so much from her two decades in practice. Her special skills are geared to creative practice management of multiple midwife groups especially those who do home births. She thinks all midwives need other midwives to avoid burnout.  She strongly believes that working with other midwives is a must if we want to do a good job in the field plus take care of ourselves while maintaining the capacity to stay close to the people we love.

She is excited to join MBC as a consultant! She believes they have an incredible array of tools, forms and resources for so many situations. She shares, “I just wish I could have had them around when I first started. Midwife life would have been so much easier!”. If you need encouragement, resources or just have a few questions answered reach out she will do everything she can to help find a solution to any issue.
